Just a few minutes' walk (or stumble, depending on where your heading) from Bath Spa train station lies the underground taverna Opa. Popular with couples, the low, intimate candlelight provides the perfect ambience for loved-up partners. However, the sultry atmosphere may prove too much for the first date and not-sure-if–you're-that-keen pair. So choose wisely. Drinks are fairly priced and the cocktail list extensive. The bar somewhat loses its classy, chilled vibe around 10 when it transforms into a club and starts blaring out Pitbull. But hey, nowhere's perfect. Apparently they also serve authentic Meze but we didn't get that far. After all, eating's cheating.
